Fire from the heaven appeared on the day of Pentecost(Acts.2:3) in the shape of divided tongues, not in the shape of snake.Do not argue to establish the fall, right.Let COG remove the snake image to obey the command "you shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of any thing......"(Exodus,20:4)

@kunjappy - gud one brother,there is no reason to believe that the curve is a serpent,and uplifting the cross,there is no reason not to,whatever we are, we are by the grace of the crucified Jesus who was resurrected and i wonder why pentecostals are averse to identifying themselves with the cross,cross is a manifestation & subtle reminder of our redemption,not that we would want to worship it but gratefully acknowledge the pains that Jesus underwent on it.

.....In the time of Moses it was a brass serpent which in fact had no life and no poison in it. In the same manner Jesus was dead and without sin lifted on the cross. But now you look at the emblem of COG carefully, the snake looks like a living one wound from the bottom to the top of the cross.Oh! what a tragedy!!!!

Contd....This incident in Numbers 21 was sovereignly prepared by God to reveal a particular type of Christ. The brass serpent lifted up on a pole in Numbers 21 is a type of Christ lifted up on the cross for us as the Son of Man according to John 3:14. As descendants of Adam, we all have been “bitten� by the old serpent, the Devil. Therefore, we are all serpentine beings with the poison of the old serpent in our nature. In the sight of God, the entire fallen human race consists of poisonous serpents. Furthermore, all these serpents are dead. We as dead serpents need a substitute, someone with the form of a serpent but without the poisonous element of the serpent. This substitute, of course, is Christ. It is NOT the material cross but the resurrected Christ.

This emblem was not there in the beginning when COG started in India. Our forefathers never had this "revelation" to install this emblem of the cross in front of any meeting halls. Then where did the modern leaders get it from? Does the Bible say so? Or the apostles have asked us to do so? No doubt, these modern "apostles have taken it from Catholicism which is going to be the GREAT BABYLON......
