saarea jhaahaang seea ahcchaa hindusthaan haamaaraa---the immortal tune of ravi shankar--i love that tune, but i hate to sing that--want to know why? because of the word "hindustan" in it!dr.ambedkar the mentor of indian constitution mentions india as a secular state with supreme sovereign powers as a nation, but why we still sometimes refer india as hindustan, rather than saying bhaarath? this is a gimmick played by the majority hindus and the government, which also consists of majority hindus!the memory is still fresh in my mind, when 'babari- masjid' was attacked and demolished by the hindus, the bjp-federal government stayed inactive for a while not taking no action. a.b.vajpayee was the prime minister ransacked by the pro-hindu rss.but our lord jesus who sees everything didn't allow the bjp government to last long!the hindus persecute the minority christians and muslims in our own nation and travel inter-nationally to the christian world to promote their religion.pray for india!

BRO. JOY CHEMBAKASERI: Thank you for your comment touching the personality of Morarji Desai. Once he told the Times reporter his only weakness of life was the love for Swiss choco1ates. He told to another reporter that nobody can make him mad but kept a smiling face.

That is a great self-control victory which the vast majority of the people, both in the religious and political world lack the most. He has read the Bible and quoted the Bible at times in his speeches. When he was questioned by the former CBS anchor person Dan Rather about his own "urine drinking" habit, he retorted that you swallow somebody's urine in capsule but read the Bible 2 Kings 18:31 "drink water from your own cistern". C. Rajagopalachari-Pandit Pant(home Minister under Nehru)

and Vallabhai Patel exerted pressure on Pundit Nehru to block visas for the Christian missionaries to India, but Pundit Nehru didn't yield to that, Mr. Desai played a cautious acting in front of Nehru but was in favour of th

To A.S.Mathew N Thepraize - Mr Morarji Desai Bapu was a pro-hindu,I totally agree with you,but he was a strict disciplinarian of principles. We seldom come across a personality like him in Indian politics, who, very strictly followed principles. He was a true Gandhiyan,a MAHATMA follower. It was only his affection and respect towards Jawaharlal, that he let his daughter Indira become the Prime Minister before him, initially, even though he was far more eligible than her!If we go back to history, his Congress party, the so called Swathanthra Congress with Mr Nijhalingappa from Karnataka was the real Congress Party.Congress- I,was a split-away group from the real Congress, but they gained momentum in popularity than the parent organization, due to Indira's charisma in Leadership later on and also due to her popularity, being the daughter of the first Prime Minister,Jawaharlal Nehru, whom we call the master-mind of modern Independent India.

Some thing,I thought,I left out before-- Pray for India

bro. joy chembakaseri: i am very glad that you are moving your pen again touching some very cardinal and critical issues faced with in our homeland india. it is very true that now there is a big shortage for statesmen like the long list of great people you have mentioned; but we have shipload of politicians. almost 1/3 of the indian politicians are stained with crime records, either civil or criminal. the indian average politician's wealth will be rapidly increasing into the millions even before the expiry date of their 1st term political tenure. great honest people? how we can expect a smooth government where the ruling elite is a bunch of criminals? it is terribly sad to read the disgusting political drama of kerala. jesus said, love for money is the root cause of all evils. whether we are in religion or politics, the same divine principle is equally applicable.

Contd- 1 India need Leaders of the caliber of Mahatma Gandhi,Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, T.T.Krishnamachari, Joythi Basu, Sadar Vallabhai Patel, Jaiprakash Narayanan, Jawaharilal Nehru, Gulsarilal Nanda, Morarji Desai to name a few, who set principles and policies in public life! Of course we have a few left of the likes of Dr Manmohan Singh and A.K. Antony, but we need more like them!Pray for India! God Bless India!

Literacy is high among Christians as well as other sections of the society, especially in South India, but the fruits of literacy and knowledge is not really reflecting in our public life! The Political arena has been bogged down to petty-bad-senseless atmosphere, for a while! The people as a whole are loosing patience!Soon there comes a time when the disgruntled public may react. It may be in the form of a revolt against the government or a civil disobedience!Let's not forget what happened in Tunisia,Libya,Syria and Egypt! This can happened in India too and a mini-revolt has already happened in Kerala!Politicians are generally considered as leaders in the society and they are supposed to be disciplinarians of Principles and Policies. The quality of public life and politics went down. What good is it,if our Literacy and knowledge is not applied towards social well being? Now our Chief Minister is forced to walk around with Commando Force, what a shame! We need Leaders of the caliber of- Contd 1

THEPRAIZE: Thank you for your nice and exalting comment. For the last few months, it was like another Russian revolution in the Believers Journal; now everything has totally subsided. On the other hand, the BJ got far greater readership through that revolution, great exposure to the believers around the world. It is my only intention to write on different topics which can bring an open forum of interaction from various readers like Bro. Joy Chemakaseri, yourself and many other people who used to write at the comments columns. We are living at a very critical time in history and the Biblical prophecies are being fulfilled-greater spiritual revival is taking place on the one hand and severe persecution is taking place in other places. We all can bless each other through sharing our Christian thoughts and spiritual insights, thus we can create cordial fellowship among the believers. " How good and pleasant is when God's people live together in unity" Psalms 133:1.

@ a. s. mathew & joy chembakaseri :- good to see the stalwarts back and giving insights to some serious topics, the committment by early followers of christ and the influence they had thru education,is hardly seen in this age and time, sometimes i wonder,if i failed to stand in the gap and fulfill the call. On a different note Dilip Singh Judeo, known to be a nightmare in Chattisgarh region a very strong anti christian, involved in converting Christians to Hindus enmass died yesterday. God's work done in God's way shall never lack God's supply.blessings

Bro. Joy Chembakaseri: Thank you for your nice response. Mr. Morarji Desai was educated in Wilson College and he became an anti-Christian and tried to introduce an anti-conversion bill at the parliament with the help of a staunch anti-Christian O.P. Thaygi, but was thrown out instantly through a divine hand, thus his political career was finished. Based on some reading, one teacher forced Moraji Desai to narrate the Lord's prayer which made him mad, ever since he kept that bitterness. On the other hand, Dr. S. Radhakrishan got educated in the Madras Christian college was a strong follower of Christ, and he loved and got emotional to sing the song " when I survey the wondrous cross". I do agree with you that democracy has its full application and proper yield where the people are literate. It is very true that illiterate people are controlling the political process in some countries including India to a certain extent. Please keep on writing as you did earlier.

the inadequacies of the present democracy--- bro: a.s. mathew you mentioned about those non-christian politicians, who after getting a decent education in christian colleges are attacking christianity.i know, two of the most prominent communist politician's children living abroad studying in christian universities living an affluent life, while the communist parents shedding crocodile-tears for the poor back home!they attack the christian community to impress the majority--the hindus!recently we saw the state government been tossed to the whims and fancies of certain politicians and both sides were scared about the majority and which way the majority voting public will turn around in its aftermath. both the government and the opposition were out there to please and canvass the majority.the present "one man one vote system is wrong",any illiterate, uneducated crook can become a chief minister!votes ratio should be based on a persons[citizens]worthiness, although with equal opportunities!

contd-2 some of the great christian colleges in india, to name a few are madras christian college (chennai)-c m s college( kottayam)-wilson college (mumbai)-st. stephens college (delhi) lyola college (several cities owned by the catholic church) etc were the learning institutions of the vast majority of the indian political elite of the olden and even recently. it is terribly sad that those non-christian politicians after getting great education in the christian colleges are trying to attack the christian community? even though the christian population is around 3% (in fact far greater than that), 1/3 of the private hospitals and very high percentage of educational institutions are being operated by them. jesus said " you are the light of the world, and salt of the world". education will bring one aspect of light to those people, when they are taken out of illiteracy. we, the followers of christ have far greater responsibility to be the torchbearers in this dark world.

while sitting at the trivandrum airport, somebody put a christian programme in the tv at the lobby and one hindu who was sitting very close to me watched the programme with great concentration. i did introduce myself and we started talking. when he told me his touching story that he was from a poor hindu family, not a christian before the world but a follower of christ. he told me emotionally that if the christian people didn't open a college in his walkable distance, he never could have finished college, so got a chance to work in a gulf country. the first college of india was the c.m.s college in kottayam started by rev. benjamin bailey, within a couple of years, he started the printing press to print the bible. in literacy rate, kerala ranks at the top. the gospel of christ brought to india by apostle thomas was mainly at the southern parts of india, and when we look back to history, education was interlinked with the gospel everywhere in the world. contd:-
