I do agree with GK. Casteism does exist in Pentecostcostalism today. There are divisions and fractions!! The church of God is composed not mainly of the upper class, but of the lowborn of the world and the despised. To appreciate the upper class is against God's mind and a shame to the church.God chose mostly the foolish, the weak, the lowborn, and the despised, so that no one would be able to boast before Him. But many of these upper class people who possess lot of wealth and have good jobs would only care for their enjoyment and weekend amusement; they have no heart for Jesus. Often the ones who take Jesus are those who have lost their jobs, who have nothing to do, or who are expecting help from others. We must realize that God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34).

i agree to the notion that casteism should be thrown out from the church, but the question is who will take the initiative? the writer says there is no such thing as caste in the church, he underline the point that the members of the church still keeps their socialidentity. what is this social identity is the more recognisable and understood caste system. this social identity give them the freedom to choose and remain in their caste and continue to boast for themselves to what they think they belongs. so this feeling of caste system cannot be abolished from the thinking of indian pentecostals. it will thrive in one form or other. the only way to abolish is to integrate between members of different "castes" by the most acceptable and recognizable way; marriage. how many of these upper caste pentecostals will be willing to do so? so basically this debate is just a waste of time. everybody knows that this will never happen.

brother, good article: the samaritans and the jews had the same god to worship, but they worshipped the same god in two different mountains. the jews did't like the alien samaritains. years back, when i met some people who came to the saving knowledge of salvation from the episcopal churches, they boasted about the deeper roots of their families, connecting their family traditions back to the centuries. what a baseless and illogical argument! we are saved by the grace of god, bought by the precious blood of jesus; then new creatures as god's children. if we are related to the jews or the arabs, brahmins or some other caste; it does't make any difference at all, as long as we are the children of god. god wants his children to be bridge-builders, not wall-builders to divide.
